Fall is My Favorite Time of Year

metallic leaves card, metallic watercolors, Fall card

10/6/2023

Ahh…… to me there is something wonderful about Fall. My Dad and I say we have a “6th sense” that can pick up signs of Fall while it’s still hot outside. It’s a difference in the wind, the angle of the sun, and just the “feel” outside. And - it’s wonderful to have the cooler weather that Fall brings!

One of the nicest changes that Fall brings is the colors in leaves. Here around Houston we don’t get a whole lot of beautiful color changes, but there are a few trees that provide some color. I tried to mimic some beautiful leaf colors with this card. I used a Paper Studio embossing folder of scattered leaves to emboss the main panel. (It appears that the embossing folder I used is no longer available, so the link is for one from Spellbinders that is very similar and available now.) Next I painted inside the debossed area of the panel with Yasutomo metallic watercolors. I splattered the panel with black and gold and then adhered the panel to green textured paper. I used a sentiment strip I had in my stash and attached it to a slightly wider strip of burlap paper before adhering it to the card.

I hope this card provides delight and inspiration for your own crafty endeavors! Enjoy your weekend and the beautiful changes that October brings!
