Paper Pack Christmas Cards and Cricut

1/13/2024

Christmas is such a fun time in so many ways: special music, outdoor decorations, special traditional foods, family gatherings, and stores filled with Christmas items and decor! This year I wanted to make Christmas cards to send to friends and family. I found a beautiful, blue-based paper pack called O Holy Night foil at Hobby Lobby that was perfect for my idea. I could create cards “en masse” using the coordinated papers in the pack. I already had a “peace” die (Avery Elle Peaceful Pines stamp and die set - discontinued?) and planned to use it with the angel themed papers. I found an angel image on Cricut’s Design Space to use as an embellishment along with enamel and glitter dots.

One of my go-to techniques for card backgrounds is adhering paper strips to a card front. I cut strips of some of the papers in the paper pack in varying widths and adhered them to the card fronts. After adhering them, I trimmed off the excess paper around the edges then finished with embellishments and a sentiment. Voila! A card!!

I also like to highlight reallly pretty paper with a simple sentiment. I used this process too - using the simple “Peace” sentiment with the angel paper. Lastly I dotted the card with bright gold Nuvo crystal drops. Peace!! That’s my prayer for us all!

I also discovered that I could create sentiments using the “Print Then Cut” process available with Cricut. I had so much fun creating new sentiments with fun font combinations. That is one feature I plan on using a lot in the future!! I think I’ve just scratched the surface of what my Cricut Maker can do!!

I see lots of fun crafting ahead!!!
